Is this normal?

So i've watercooled my system and its been running alright for two weeks now(not continuously).

Been keeping a watchful eye on the temps while on idle and gaming. Temp watching wasnt really super scientific but you know, i took ambient atleast :D

So before i watercooled the temps on the CPU and the GPU on idle were playing around 32-35 with ambient of 20-26. While gaming or as i call it "Load", CPU was 63-70 and GPU was maxed at 80c threshold with ambient of 25-28

Now that i've watercooled it, the temps on the CPU on idle is 27-32 and the GPU on idle is around 22-26 with ambient of 20-26. While on load, now that i've watercooled it, CPU is around the same; 63-70 and the GPU plays around 50-52 with ambient of 25-28

So is this normal? That the CPU's temps on load is the same as when on air?
I'm super happy with the GPU though from 80 to average 50 on load hehe
System specs are in my signature :) and im using Alphacool 360x60 and 240x60 rads on pull config.

not totally sure (i dont have WC myself) but should be a bit lower than that i would expect.

you could try reseating the CPU block or using new thermal paste.

It depends really - very difficult for us to say what temperatures should be.

My CPU temp on my WCing build was pretty high, and I put that down to the CPU block being unable to absorb the heat from the CPU well enough.

Run something like Intel Burn Test, and disable the GPU (power connectors out and switch to integrated graphics) and keep an eye on temps then, and also check to see if the rads get warm. I'd expect CPU temps to be less then 10 degrees lower than they are now at load if it is a case of the block being unable to absorb the heat properly.

Tbh, there isn't really anything to worry about, your temps are still easily fine. CPU temps will always be higher than GPU temps don't forget.

list better specs like you say ut360 and 240 but ut what ut 45 ut60 ut30 also loop order details help us help you better

I have a 360*60 and 240*60, with CPU and 2 GPUs, and my load temps are virtually the same ~65C CPU, ~50 both GPUs

vcore on cpu?? you state idle temp dropped but load temps didnt you running push or pull or push pull loop order also helps. and you also didnt say what you used prior to the wc loop for cpu.

Never have a CPU on auto. Best to do it manually.
Yeah i know but i dont have the time and patience right now to start trying to find out my lowest possible vcore

Ill try this soon. But what you said about temps being absolutely fine, yeah i know the temps are fine, actually they're pretty low but im kinda strange, wondering about everything haha
Very nice rig now by the way, James :)

Sorry i missed out so much, couldnt fit any more on the sig hehe
But about the rad naming situation, 'UT' actually is the series name for the Alphacool 60mm rads that's why i put it as "UT 360 & 240".
And to answer all your questions:
Loop Order- Res/Pump--->Bottom 240 rad--->Up to GPU--->Up to Top 360 rad--->Down to CPU--->Back to Res/Pump
vCore on CPU- Its on auto. So with CPU-Z, on 3.9Ghz(turbo) goes to 1.056 and at 800Mhz(idle) 0.702
Fan config- All pull only
Prior to water- CoolerMaster Evo 212(something along that line)

This is in the same situation as mine? On load/gaming and prior to water you were the same on CPU?

yeah I'm thinking you either have a bad chip (bad as in thermally not malfunctioning) or you need to reseat your cpu block. running it stock on that setup I'd expect alot lower temps as well.

Argh! Reseating sounds like it'll solve the problem but to reseat, i need to remove TIM and therefore drain the loop?

Hmm you don't need to drain the loop as long as you can clean you CPU and CPU block and reapply TIM? Have a look before you go to that trouble. Remember to disconnect your PSU if you're at any risk of straining a fitting and creating a leak though!
