Bloke in the chip shop has a 7900gt 512mb gddr3, think its made by BFG or something

is there much of a difference between that and my current and trusty 7600gt 256mb gddr3? my card plays the games i want to play, but i can probably get the 7900gt for 20 something so just wondering what difference there is

:wavey:

yes, it improves gaming performace. please be noted that 7900GT cards usually requires an additional 6-pin power (12V), so make sure that your system (power supply) support it.

stick with your trusted 7600GT, if you're not sure whether your system support the card or not, otherwise, go for it (it's a good bargain though).

or, you can checkout the latest vga performance hierarchy on tomshardware for some performance comparison on major cards available in the market.

I'd take it off him for 20 something if I`m using a 7600gt tbh.

Both of them will come in handy no matter what the future holds.

We are talking pcie versions arent we ?

yep, pci-e

been looking at some benchmarks, seems to be about 40% faster at higher resolutions, so maybe it's worth while
