Is my new SSD broken?

I recently purchased a 80GB Vertex II SSD from a friend of mine.
It had never been used before either. Upon plugging this in it doesnt seem to get picked up in windows, in the bios or in disk management. Ive tried 3 different sata ports and two different sata power cables.
Ive tried reinstalling my motherboard drivers and software (Asus P8H61-MX)
But this hasnt helped either.

The only real thing left is to assume that its dead.

other than trying on another machine, nope, you've pretty much covered the
diagnostic portion of O*Z SSD testing. if you do get it to work, don't use it for an
OS drive until any/all firmware updates are done and then, i'd be iffie for storage
use.

Does it show up in the BIOS?

On a side note, holy crap why does this cost so much on Amazon!?

Nope, no where.

Its fine im getting a refund now. And i dont know SPS but i only payed £40

Good news. Best to have a look around at some other SSDs in future, the OCZ ones aren't regarded as high quality.
