Is H80 set to low too risky for cpu?

Hi guys simple question.

I have my Corsair H80 set to lowest of three settings because its just too noisy otherwise. That in turn raises my core temps to around 80° celsius on full load and 38-42° on idle. Tested for 20' with OCCT Linpack. I render once a week for about half an hour.

Can my cpu (2600k oc to 4.4ghz) take these settings ?

I really enjoy the quiet now and hope I can keep these settings. Thanks for your feedback.

80° is a little high in my opinion..

You might be better off purchasing some decent fans, ever thought of that ?

Might get to look on thoes fancy noctuas

That seems very high for a 2600k on a h80... I think there may be a problem... Whats you cpu voltage ? Try to bring it down a bit....

i personally would be happy with 80c, however at those speeds and your processor does seem a tad high, you sure you cant drop the voltage a bit more?

Unless you fold, you're not really going to see max load temps during normal use, probably even while rendering

Nope 80° is a toaster...not safe bro

1. post picture of your RIG so we can see the airflow in your case.

2. replace your fan

I think intel would disagree as according to their website the max temp for the case should be 72C, somehow I don't think the stock cooler can manage a delta of less than 8c

lol it's funny because when you have a broken multiplier like me 197.23 x 17 don't wtf yourself, you'll know why heat destroys chips I've exprimented with mines now I've lost bits and parts of silicone lol

id just get some decent fans, that would be the simplest solution really.

I just assume that the stock-fans are still in use and if your just replace them with some quality ones you can

ramp up the speed and get some better cooling for even lower noise.

me thinks that is fine, if rendering is the most stress you put your CPU under on a regular basis.

It may be worth upgrading the fans at some point, but i wouldn't be desperate about it

that seems to be too much negative pressure in the case and that's not good for your temps.

it's preferable to be positive pressure in (aka more air in than out)

give it a try , I assume u'll see some temp drop-down

Does positive pressure really have noticeable influence on the temps ?

Sounds a little odd to me..

Thought negative positive is just better for some chance of getting less dust in your case.

EDIT: Yeah fucked this up again.. jeez. its the positive for less dust..

I was under the assumption that positive pressure is what's needed for less dust in your case. The raised pressure inside the case means that air is pushed out of the little gaps in your case where dust could settle.

Don't most cases these days have negative pressure? I know the Corsair ones do, hell, even my old Antec 902 had more exhaust fans than intake.

So i should turn H80 fans around to push/pull for intake then?

Or do I just add a 120mm as intake on bottom of case ?

no worries for render stuff

H80 out rear...........................reverse it to as intake...and monitor your temp 15 minutes of full load with OCCT Linpack

Sorry I forgot to mention that theres also a 200mm fan as intake on side of thermaltake chaser mk1 full tower, so pressure is more or less even.

The reason i use h80 as out is because the rad is very hard to clean what with all the dust that forms since theres no dust filter going in...the difference in temps is only 2-3° higher as outtake.
