Is ballroom dancing difficult to learn?

Recently I am crazy about ballroom dancing since it looks so graceful. I am planning to learn. I wonder whether it is hard to learn.
By the way, I am stiff. Is it difficult for me? Does anyone learn ballroom dancing? Plz share your experience.

I take it that means no-one this forum can dance I know I can't for the life of me, I've got no rhythm whatsoever when it comes to dancing Give me a bass or guitar riff and I can play it, give me a song to dance to and you can forget it

My mum does ballroom dancing as it happens, she's only amateur but she's got a certificate to say she passed her exams etc.
