Is 600w enough?

Hi All,

I am looking to get a second 780 for my rig but am not sure if I need to upgrade my PSU as well. Any help appreciated.

I have:

Corsair 2013 Series GS 600W PSU
Asus P8Z77-V LX2 Intel Z77
i5 3570k overclocked to 4.5ghz
gigabyte GTX780 windforce
TeamGroup Elite 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C11 1600MHz Dual
Alpenfohn K2 Mount Doom CPU Cooler
Samsung 840 Series 120GB SSD
Seagate 1TB HDD
Soundblaster X-fi extreme audio soundcard

I've read 650W is kind of the minimum power for SLI 780s, but I wouldn't even try it using 650W myself, especially if you're into your overclocking. If you can afford SLI 780s you should invest into a bit of a better PSU too I'd say. 750W should be fine, personally I'd get something around 850W and it will power everything you need for a long while within reason.

If you are going for a new motherboard option, you may aswell go Haswell

The AX unit will be great and will do what you want, I was going to suggest RM850 which ill allow for sli later aswell.....

I ran a 650 watt PSU with overclocked 780's, A 4770K overclocked to 4.60GHZ, 32GB 2400MHZ memory, Mobo, 1 x SSD, 1 x HDD, Air CPU cooler with 2 x fans, 2 x case fans, Sound card, Network card and a lastly, A DVD burner.
I did switch out to a 850w in the end though just to be on the safe side.
