I do not know if this exists already, but would it be a good idea to create an OC3D IRC channel? The chat on this forum is nice, but it's not really utilised as a full chat simply because it isn't easy to use.

It's been a habit of me to have mIRC on my secondary screen at all times and could make it a habit again.

The channel i'd suggest is oc3d @ quakenet or overclock3d @ quakenet.

It would also be great if some ppl hopped on to the Teamspeak server for a bit of banter

An OC3D IRC channel exists, or it always used to. It usually only had bots on, but it was there.

I'll see if I still have the address.

I'm the same. Only used it for the clanning days, it sorta died off and then after a re-format there was no point in reinstalling :nopitty;

also what you can do with some clever coding is have the OC3D news automatically post the latest news from the site to a bot in irc. This works via the RSS feed. Not sure exactly how it works but it picks up the info from the feed and the bot posts it in any channel the bot is present with the title , date and link to reply. It can do this with any part of the site as long as it has a RSS feed. It will add a little more hits to your site depending on the channel. I can maybe help you with 1 if interested
