intresting

I wonder who'll be next? I would've put my money on Alienware doing this but considering they've only just re-introduced AMD 'cards I doubt it. It's a poor play by Nvidia in my opinion. I very much doubt they'll be able to get the huge vendors (such as cyberpower or even maingear) on their side. If you look at the vendors for the Nvidia "battle boxes" you'll see they're almost all around the same size (and probably have the same market share as) Origin. In terms of the UK I don't think Nvidia will bother with companies.

I just think is bad buisness practice myself, I didnt think companys would stoop as low as doing things like this x

Totally agreed, i dislike how companies feel the need to do something like this.

buy off a vendor, news story with a said manufacturer complaining about amd products, less people buy amd products.

Shameful Nvidia, shameful

i don't see the problem, it's just business. if this is shameful then so is the "buy our GPU and we will give you 9 free games!" tactic, because that usually involves buying off a developer, it's just not as blatantly obviously as this deal.
not to mention that most of us don't bother with origin PCs and those who do don't bother with who manufactured their gpu.

i disagree, amd may have paid developers so they can do their never settle campaign but that made their products more competitive providing more value for the consumer.

Nvidia have bought off Origin PC and made them put their reasoning as instability and bad consumer feedback. This news from Origin PC is news feeds of most tech sites.

AMD made their product line better by adding "free" games from dealing with developers.
Nvidia has paid off a system builder to not use a competitors product and spread a slanderous news story.

those games in the bundles are made to run better on AMD hardware as well, the difference is that nVidia took the active way to make AMD look bad and AMD takes the passive way to make nVidia look bad. also it's not news that AMD's drivers aren't exactly the bee's knees, if it was actually slanderous then AMD could sue them.
from a business perspective it's not unreasonable either. AMD cards were probably not really popular in their builds because to most casuals nvidia is more of a name than AMD and it makes management easier.
also there is no proof that nvidia did pay them off, so currently the only people talking slanderous are you guys in here.
cmon, this isn't much of an incident. origin isn't a big company and obviously AMD got its pros out of this incident as well because you guys now swing completely for the red camp. it's not like nVidia just put AMD out of business.

I ignore all things like this from any manufacturer.

They don't do things like this for the reasons they state, as in in BS spins on things like "we want the best for our customers" and other BS they come out with.

They do it to make money and to cut as much competition out as possible. In this case it's a load of crap about AMD to discourage people from buying from them for no other reason than greed and to make more money.

Sadly all companies do similar things, it's all just a load of marketing, manipulation and slander, C'est la vie.

AMD giving away free games is a big difference from Nvidia paying off someone and spreading lies about AMD though. Makes you wonder why Nvidia would go to such lengths to do something like this.

Anyway, ignore all the BS and just go with whatever is best at the time of buying. All this kind of stuff is put out there to make you give your money to one company or the other, they don't value your custom, they just value your money.

read this while looking in the Linus Tech Tips forums last night.

According to this article, Nvidia has a a program called the "tier 0" program in order to get retailers to stop stocking competitive (AMD) products in order to obtain a discount on Nvidia products. (makes me think of intel)
