Internet connection keeps dropping out.

Hi all,

For the last few weeks my internet has been dropping out for a few seconds at a time, this causes my TeamSpeak3 to disconnect and reconnect me , it has also caused me to drop out of games like Overwatch and CS:GO.

When the drop happens i always check to see if the network access tab at the bottom right has changed but it always stays the same like nothing has happened.

I had our network techs (I'm with talktalk) come out to check and they say the connection is fine with no note worthy anomalies.

I'm wired in to the router , not wireless.

does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

Try switching to a better voice chat service like Discord, we've pretty much ditched TS in favour of Discord now.

This isn't going to be what you want to hear but personally I'd dump your ISP. I had nothing but problems with TalkTalk. Unstable all the time (even at 4am), randomly losing connection. We had "engineers" out repeatedly and every time we were told "there's nothing out of the ordinary on your line".

Switched to BT a couple of months ago and I think I've lost connection twice since and that was the hub restarting itself.

I'll also echo the Discord statement from Wraith.

I switched from TalkTalk to Sky the reason being I had nothing but problems with TT and I have had 1 issue with SKY (my landline could not receive or make calls" which was sorted out by the next morning. Anyway that is something for you to think about ;).

I will also echo Wraiths statement about Discord :)

thanks for the help guys , i'l keep doing some troubleshooting to find out if its anything else but i'l probably take your advice and switch ISP and comms program.

First Issue.. Talk Talk.. definitely try and ditch them, in favour of someone like Plusnet, or as others have said Sky (tho I have no experience with Sky)

Not sure what wraith has against TS but it's quality is far in excess of Discord if you set it up properly :P Certainly no "robotting" and it doesn't disagree with your soundcard like Discord can. Discord doesn't handle disconnects any better than TS either? :P

TalkTalk are having issues recently, keep an eye on Downdetector to see whats happening. As for changing, Sky do not do a line above 38Mb/s any more. So if your line can support above that look else where if the speed is important to you.
