I think pctwin needs to spill the beans on how he did it and on which version of the os as he got them to work so we know they will.

Its just getting the how

PCmark04 ran in windows 7 64bit under XP compatability mode and PCMark05 ran in XP.

PCmark05 wouldn't run in XP until I did all the automatic updates, even though I installed explorer 8.

I have never had a problem with 05. But I think I was running it on tinyxp.

Why not replace 04 at least with pcmark7???

No I didn't update win7. I disabled most of the network stuff as you dont need it like you do with vantage.

It was win7 64bit ultimate, don't know if it's that different from hp.

hmmm, mine is 7 64b u too :/

im going to blame my install files then as 05 is just refusing to install fullstop now but 04 is working (i use that term loosely) on xp.

Gutted, some "*&! has messed around with our interenet settings i.e. reset the router to default and the guys whose account it is in is nowhere to be found. This is gonna keep me offline until we get it sorted (not expecting it until next week) I will pm Tom with the reason why. In the meantime I will play with some of the other tests that run without the internet.

Something for everyone to note is that you should run the cpu benches with performance settings selected for the themes. It will set it so that any background cpu usage will be kept to a minimum.

Might shave a few 0.01 or 0.001 off the time. After all, a lower time is what you are after.

Should be under appearance-advanced settings (or something along those lines).

So I got new installers and both worked, well...installed. 05 wants mp10 but still moaned about it not being there, mp11 on the other hand sorted it so that does work. 04 is still failing the grammar test

I have run PC mark04 but cannot get a score anyone know why? it is not activated might that be it? if so I will get teh same problem with PCmark 05 too?

check the details on the result window, im beting 04 didnt finish the grammer test and thats why no score

It's AMD month at HWBOT, the only problem is its benching pcmark4.

If you mange to get it to run, maybe resubmit a new score and it will be added to the comp.

I went back to portable windows 7 as tiny XP didnt like my wireless equipment and I couldnt connect it to the net

i have been using an old nlite version of xp i made years back for gaming on as i cant burn any of these iso i have atm.

You shouldn't really need it to connect to the interent. By doing that you are slowing the computer down slightly. My benching set up will be the board, tinyxp10, a mouse and ps2 keyboard.

Save all the screen shots and data files to a usb and upload later on.
