Internal AMD Overclocking Compo

Yeah do what you have to to get your best scores and thats allowed in hwbot. Just no core unlocking for now so a max of 4 cores.

Have the other guys got their kits yet?

All members need to do build logs ect to show the hardware, its not just about the benching.

If you dont keep the supporters happy Ill be wanting it ALL returned remember guys so please put the effort in.
 
As far as I know it doesn't matter how many cores are active.

pifast and superpi are single core benchmarks anyway and many of the overclockers disable cores for these runs. It's an acceptable practice I believe
 
i finish work at 4pm today so more tinkering will be done tonight

Yea these are retail chips with a deneb core so no unlocking as its only a few OEM versions of these that are really an x6 in disguise.

As for blocking cores off in the BIOS, well most of the records on the bot are done like this so its cool.

I hadnt noticed btw, i was looking more at speeds than cores hehe.

I`ll experiment a bit tonight and try and nail a few more benchmarks too
 
not thru the whole cpu core your not no, only the part thats active. think of it a bit like a 4 bar leccy fire with all 4 bars on, then with only 1.
 
has anyone else tried pcmark04 and 05 yet?

ran them both a couple of times and i cant get a score because it cant complete the video codec tests :/

tried all the fixes on the futuremark site and it still fails

I like this post, remember guys this is a comunity event so we need to all be making sure everyone gets the best possible scores from their kit.....
 
i have always had trouble with the pc marks to tell you the truth, check the bot for my submission on it

same as strawb with it moaning about teh media encoder player thing and then it fails after it finishes.

yea raid or ram disk kill on pcm

still wondering why hwbot haven't dropped 04 tbh seems pretty useless to me

yep just opening it pressing run after the error messages about the encoder being missing have gone

then it fails a media test and cant get a score

might be a slight delay on the results guys,

had a mounting issue and seems i have run out of thermal compound and tomorrow is the earliest i can get some now

yeah the CPU dislodged then came off completely with the cooler had to clean it up and then bang no thermal compound :/

looked like there was some left in it which was annoying :/
