Internal AMD Overclocking Compo

Need to post this here as I did not have it earlier

UK only? I got someone interested.

HWbot profile

Air coller: Noctua NH D14

Setup: cpu, mobo, ram(provided by you) +gpu for f@h would probably be the gtx460(maybe gtx 560ti). Would make a build log(which would be properly updated, reviewed and explained) for the f@h setup and post it on the OC3D forums.

For the benchmarking part I would join the hwbot team, maximally overclock it for the benchmarks to get some points for the team(H2O, LN2), this is also one of the things why I want it because I love to push things to its maximum and would direly love to try myself on the 970.

Yep.

After the compo, if we get to keep the kit, we cool it with whatever.

I,m planning some sub-zero cooling myself afterwards. See what they can really do.

I'm in

Air cooler: Noctua C14 in my rig but I'll get something else if I have to

I'd love to have some hardware just for the sake of benching it, it's been too long since I've been seriously benching (Pre-HWbot, 3Dmark 01 ORB, SuperPi ect).

It'd be great to help bump up the OC3D team and play with some new toys (I haven't had a serious AMD rig since socket A) and it'd be awesome to post up a log of my experiences with the kit!

Go bench team!

Right, why should I get the kit,

Ow wait, first things first:

Noctua NH-D14, need I say more

And now for the hard part, why should I get the kit,

I’ve just gotten into benching, and I really want to get more experience with a bigger variety of hardware.

Especially in the AMD department, I’ve never really used a AMD CPU so there is a lot to learn there.

Producing a build and progress log will not be any problem and it will be well documented with pictures and loads of stats.

F@H is no problem either, as I already have experience in the protein world.

I definitely enjoy trying to get the last drop of performance out of my hardware, which is always a work in progress.

Ill be talking to AMD about who we choose asap, then Ive got some legal shizzle that will need signing and Ill send the gear our as soon as the motherboards arrive / or when I get a chance as I get a year older very soon.

- True black 120 Extreme x2 Noctua fans

- Great learning opportunity and I have alot of spare time to delve into the deeps of the AMD world

I would be posting daily if not hourly of my progress with tons on benchmarks and pictures.

AMD has always seemed more of a challenge for me to overclock so this would be amazing to try and get more experience and clocks out of.

Always wanted to take AMD kit into 4ghz+ area......

I will happily go on a photo spree to show the folks @ OC3D what im working with.

I've got a fabulous NH-D14 right now.

Well.. this is a tough one. I haven't had much experience with AMD chips, actually pretty much none overclocking wise. I also have NO HWBot profile as I've never tried benching before - I lost the silicon lottery on multiple levels - GPU, CPU etc. so didn't even bother. Thing is, I really want to contribute to the team in some way and as you can see I've been dedicating my only proper computer to folding for as long as possible since I built it. I don't reckon I have a god-given right to this hardware, what I do think, however, is that it'd be a hell of a way to get into benching considering I don't have the money for constant hardware purchases.

Right we may have a minor delay on this, its not my lazy ass fault for a change though.......

Ive got the guys who get the kit something slightly unique to play with too.....

I think unique is an understantement! Anyways this means we will all have the same kit where it counts.

The cooler is the new Scythe Susanoo and isnt officially out *yet* the guys who get the kick should be gettig them not long after they hit the shops, so my requirements from you all have just gone up another notch.

With my happy head on its time for us all to pull together and show how much a small team can do....

more details to follow very soon my boys, very soon
