Interested in buying a cooler

Its ok but I'm not sure that it such a huge upgrade from your existing case. Sorry I thought you were in the US, where in the world are you?

I've had a good look through and found these 3 which sort of tick most of the boxes:-

The front to back air flow looks ok and it comes with 3 included fans, cable management is very poor.

Only comes with one fan but has the scope to add lots more fans, cable management is poor though.

Good air flow cable management holes and scope to add lots of fans. Unfortunately doesn't look like it comes with any fans.

I see al the models you shown me are middletowers. Can you tell what does middletower and full tower means?

And is poor cable management a really bad thing?

Also, what are bays?

Middle tower just refers to the overall size of the pc case. A middle tower still supports a full size ATX board, but a full tower is bigger again.

Poor cable management means that you will generally have a rats nest of cables in you pc, it will impede air flow and just doesn't really look very nice. It all depends on whether you want a pc to just work, or are interested in the looks and want to build a nice rig.

Bays come in 3 types 2.5, 3.5 & 5.25 inches. These are where you install your DVD, hard drives and other devices such as fan controllers etc. DVD drives are a standard 5.25, mechanical hard drives are a standard 3.5 and laptop hard drives and most ssd's are 2.5.

It all depends on what you want. Do you want something that just works, or do you see yourself as an enthusiast who wants to get into building and playing around with hardware?

Here's a pic of the OP's current case:-

Just no real air flow, no rear or front fans and no cable management. Trying to recommend a solution that will lower his cpu temps and give him a good base to upgrade in the future.

If he wants to spend the least amount of money he can just get 2 what looks like 80mm rear case fans...

Ow, i forgot about this one, sorry

.

Ok, i browsed a couple o' days ago through my local hardware shop (the site i gave you) and i found these 2 models worth buying

lc-power pro-916bII gribber

and

cooler master elite 430

(actually this is the one marsey99 suggested me

)

both have 1 120mm fan on each side (top, bottom, front, side) which i think should be plenty, i don't know. I could be browsing some more but i think that's what i'm looking for.

tbh that Coolermaster Elite 430 looks not too bad, here's a video review I found:-

I think as a minimum I would put an additional 120mm fan on the back. This case will certainly challenge your cable management skills. If you do get it you can route your P4 cable through that huge cpu renention plate opening on the motherboard tray, if your cable is long enough.

Ok, i have my pc case now what do i do with it? I mean, i see this huge black thing with another 4 small fans that just sit on my room floor and don't do anything, where do i start doing the magic?

Now the fun begins. If this is your first ever build, you can leave the memory cpu & cpu heatsink in place and disconnect everything else. There are 9 screws holding the motherboard in place. These are screwed into normally brass standoffs.

The best thing might be to look at a vid on youtube and familiarise yourself with all the components and were they're going to go.

This might help, but don't worry about the memory, cpu or cpu heatsink installation as you don't need to mess with those.

Damn i'm tired

.

Ok i looked at the pc assembling tutorials and on other videos on youtube regarding the subject but i have a couple of issues with this thing:

-All my case fans (bought separatly) have a few short thick screws that i wouldn't really go about shoving in the fan socket cuz most likely it would break the socket so i'll probably have to buy a bunch o' nuts and long thin screws to fasten the fans without damaging 'em.

-Where does the hdd and where does the optical drive go on the motherboard? xD

-By far my biggest discontent is that my 2x2 connector from the psu doesn't reach the socket it's supposed to go into and i'm not sure not connecting it is that much of a good idea. Are there any 2x2 extension cords or 4 pin to 2x2 pin plugs that i can acquire?

-The psu on the bottom takes too much space so that i can't connect the 120mm fan anymore and i'll have to get a smaller fan for the bottom

.

Weren't all the cables supposed to go on the back of the case so that it doesn't form a huge tentacle blob?

There may be others issues but i can't remember any atm xD .

Those thick screws are standard self tapping screws that are designed for those fans, don't worry the fans won't break, just be gentle with them.

I would put the 3 fans:- 2 in the roof and 1 at the back, then your psu will fit fine. Have a look at the fans, normally they have arrows on showing you which way the airflow goes. You want to install them so that all of the air is pulled out of the case (negative pressure).

Mount the psu with the 120mm fan facing downwards.

Install the fans first, then the psu. If the 4 pin power is too short, you'll need a P4 Extension cable:-

Take bothe sides of the case off. Plug one end of the extension cable into your motherboard and install it, allowing the other end of the cable to exit where the big hole is on the motherboard tray. Then screw the motherboard in place and connect the psu P4 cable to the extension behind the back of the motherboard tray. Make sure you buy an extension cable long enough.

When you get this far post a piccie.

Also, tell me, which way is the fan supposed to face?

[Edit]

Ow, sorry, i missed the part where you explained the thing with arrows and air flow, my mistake xD .

And i see that the top left fan bumps the cpu fan and i can't install it, is there any way to get that fan up there or are there any thinner fans so i can get past the cpu?

The rear fan on its own should be fine, getting a fan in the roof is a bonus - so even if you can get one in that's fine.

Don't forget to install the motherboard i/o shield plate before you screw the motherboard in place.

Are you having fun? It'd be nice to have some piccies of your progress. Did you know that you can upload your piccies on this site? Go to the main page click on Tools > OC3D Uploads and you can put your piccies there.
