It looks like Intel's "Coffee Lake" series of CPUs will release in Q1 2018, bringing 6 CPU cores to a mainstream CPU socket.

If Zen is what I think it is they will need a mainstream 6 core CPU far, far sooner than that.
I've been playing with my lady's rig tonight (mine now) and Windows 10 seems to like using all 8 cores, and boosting the ones it is using. It's very clever.
I'm more excited than I should be for Zen and Vega ^_^

Is it only me thank thinks every new name just sounds more childish than the last one?...Ie, Cannon Lake, Ice Lake, Tiger Lake, Coffee Lake?.
AFAIK they are actual names of lakes in the United States. Intel always picks domestic site names, AMD overseas ones. Tbh, I don't really mind whatever they call it.
I thought so too but if you search maps, the only one that pops up is Cannon Lake
As a biology researcher I know that often smaller water bodies are not on a map due to their small size, or, they have been renamed (uncommon in the western part of the world though). Either way, it doesn't really matter I suppose.
