I don't understand that. Did no one get a standard system with a standard operating system before shipping the chips out and test them? That's like a studio engineer not checking the mastering of the music in a few standard speaker setups before releasing the band's music. No sound engineer would be that careless unless the publishers demanded it due to contractual agreements.
