Intel i7 7700K temps lower by 26 degrees after TIM replacement

Benchmarker, RichUK, has shown a new Intel Kaby Lake i7 7700K running at 5.0GHz before and after he replaced Intel's stock TIM, with thermals lowering by 26 degrees.

My 3570k has been running fine delided since the day I bought it. Mind you putting a brand new CPU in a bench vice and hitting it with a hammer and block of wood had my heart going a little.

You'd think that at least for the 'k' skus that Intel could use better thermal compound.

Yes but the whole point is.. why should we have to delid just to get the results we expected from intel out of the box so to speak.
 
Really hope Zen gives them a kick up the arse. This is beyond cheap for a supposedly premium overclocking part.
