Intel i5 or i7?

Hey Guys

I need some advice on weather to get the intel i5 2500k or the intel i7 2600k, i will mainly be using my rig to game on so was wondering weather i would need those 4 extra hyper threads or weather the 4 cores of the i5 would be enough. btw the processor will be sat on a ASUS Maximus IV Extream with 8gb of Mushkin Redline.
