This has been needed for years. Their branding is still very confusing, the numbers even more so.
i rather have 3,5,7,9 indicating performance tiers... then super, hyper, ultra, mega.![]()
Yeah but we all know that isn't the problem. The problem is when they do 10 CPUs in one stack. Like 12100. 12100F and so on.
A while ago GN did an article on the naming. Some of them were so long they are hard to pronounce. Even AMD have been doing the same. Why? is just a mystery lost on me. They really don't need so many products or such ridiculous long names.
They most likely do to cover essentially the entire price range and hence leave little to no room for their competitor. This is atleast what GN said in a video a while back.
Aye pretty much. Can guarantee managers at Currys are telling their staff to push the whole 'Ultra' gimmick in their sales pitches as well.So they are going the route Apple and so many others have gone with the whole "Pro, Max, Ultra, Max Ultra, Pro Max, Super Hyper Mega Godlike Storm Edition" Numbers are not enough, we need to use silly gimmicky words as well".
Oh yeah, I am not arguing that. It's the naming and branding that has become confusing.
There was no I9* until a few years back. All of a sudden they added that and more confusing names. Like 13900K. Then 13900KF and so on. When really it should have just been "I9 with onboard" and vice versa.
just replacing "core" with "ultra" or even worse a bunch of such buzzwords (hyper, super) will not fix that.
ok i don´t think intel will do that.
but how to make the different performance categorys more clear then?
having an ultra 14000K, ultra 14100, ultra 14900KF... does not change much.
at least with the numbers i instantly knew if the cpu belongs to the top, middle or bottom of the lineup.
How do you know they are even going to stick with model numbers after the name?
I knew a company that used to sell three things. They were titled "Good, better and best".
