So compared to the Athlon 64 X2 3800+ how much more powerful is this puppy?

I would say a bit, but unless you OC it not HUGE amounts

hmm abit pricey for what I was looking at, as I have an asus board priced up around £35 lol, wonder how much more this board would offer??

Remember with this board you have a decent IGP and integrated HDMI, i.e. you don't need a gfx card for it.

From the benchmarks I've seen I'd say this has about the same performance as a 3800 tbh. It beats the 3600 in most benchmarks but not by a lot. The E2160 would be a bit faster again.

But then just remember, these have been seen clocked to over 3Ghz (if you need to!)

Sweet Now the choice is the cheaper AMD or paid that bit more for an INTEL.

Is abit the only company using the amd 690 chipset for an intel motherboard?

Ok thanks alot guys for your help, I think ill pay the extra and go with the Abit board, Ill use the onboard gpu and see how it goes, and the OC
