Intel begins high volume EUV Intel 4 chip manufacturing in Ireland

Intel means that they plan to restore and return more fresh water than they take in.

How ? Are they going to magically conjure it from the atmosphere ? They can't give back more than they take out.

I think someone at Intel didn't read their own marketing speak ^_^

Remember it's "restore and return". In this case, it means that Intel are cleaning/restoring enough water to more than account for what they take in.

A lot of companies are doing this now to limit their impact on local environments, especially in water starved areas. It wasn't too long ago that a drought in Taiwan was threatening to prevent TSMC from producing chips. Water sustainability efforts are important.

So they are acting as a sort of water filtration/purification plant aswell then beyond what they use ? Good idea, Wonder if other companies will follow.

I believe part of it is due to enforced sustainability requirements imposed by the EU. Its a good thing overall for everyone.
