hey all.

only for tomorrow I can get the intel 330 120Gb for 102Euros(shipping included) or the Sandisk Extreme 120Gb for 94Euros.

which should I go for?

Out of the two i would go for the Sandisk Extreme

im pretty sure the intel 330 uses the old controller which isnt as fast. saying that they are the most reliable drive i know of

not sure on the sandisk. how much more is the intel 500 series 120gb?

would be a better purchase

EDIT: ok scrap that theres not much performance difference between the 2. ive heard more good things about the intel but ive never heard much about the sandisk

Out of the two i'd choose the Sandisk Extreme for sure. The Sandisk is the cheapest SSD with a Toggle NAND and SF2281 controller on the market atm.

Toggle NAND's are generally the best performing memory interfaces in SSD's, but are more expensive. However the price of the Sandisk is actually very good, which is always nice.

(Basically: Toggle NAND = Best overall performance but most expensive, Synchronous = In the middle for price and performance, Asynchronous = Cheaper alternative, slightly slower)

the 510 series 120gb ssd costs 172 euros. it's way too much

I've heard about the extremes firmware is crappy even the updated one

Yeah you want to be getting the Sandisk or a Crucial M4 really. The Intel is a bit too expensive for what it is (but I guess they are really reliable).

When it comes to flash memory, SanDisk have always been the best, i'm surprised it's taken them this long to jump on the SSD market tbh.

peeps,

thank u all for your suggestions.

I finally purchased the 330 one because the sandick extreme is sold by a totally new online store (with no customer feedbacks yet) at a very-very low price which made me a little suspicious.
