Installing a second HD and configuring RAID1

Would if be a problem to configure a pair of HD's to RAID1 when the original hard drive has been up and running independantly for sometime?

do you mean like a live migration or do you mean using a new and old hard drive in raid 1?

My understanding is that raid 1 you can just build the raid. Using the first drive as the master.

Think of it as rebuilding it after one drive has failed.
