wow if i had 32 gigs or ram id probably dedicate the 16gigs to run os and apps from :D

hafx is a huge case, did you consider any wc? a simple loop like, top rad, cpu, gpu, bottom 140 to pump to res and back to top. you can also get some wc heatsink for ram if its that important with virtualisation.

you missed out your psu, I assume you got a sufficient enough one to run this rig. vertex 2 arent best out there but certainly arent bad.

apart from that nothing i cant see anything wrong with it, good luck with it :3

Firstly, you can't run an OS off a RAMDisk. All RAM disks are cached on a temp file that gets loaded when you initialize the program or boot up your PC. Secondly, he said he'll do WC when he has some more money, learn to read dude. And also, he did post which PSU will use (which as a matter of fact is overkill for these specs).
 
OCUK haven't got back to me as of yet, but I'd imagine it'll be tomorrow now.
In regards to PSU, I've got an OCZ ZX Series 850W, should be plenty :)

Interesting you mention the Vertex 2, I always thought they were the best, appreciate the heads up, as I was thinking of getting a Vertex 4 sometime soon! What would you recommend in it's place? (it'll be a 256 or 512)

I've never been interested in it before, as I've only had midi towers until now, and been far too fiddly for my liking. Saying that I've just seen G-Dubs' NZXSPC build and that looks astonishing, so never say never....

I'd recommend Crucial, Corsair, Intel, Samsung etc. The Vertex 4's are supposed to be better, but the prices are similar between Vertex 4 and other drives with a more reliable reputation than OCZ, so personally Id still pick a different brand.

The 512gb Crucial M4 is actually cheaper than the OCZ 4 on amazon right now.

I think it's stupid to buy 512GB SSDs. 4x128GB SSDs cost the same as one 512GB, and you get so much more bang for your buck. You could get upwards of 2GB/s and 300.000 IOPS with four drives in RAID0.
 
Also, multiple drives in RAID0 because more unreliable, and the greater number of drives added in the array, the less reliable the array becomes. I have had two SSDs in RAID0 fail, and it is NOT a nice experience...
 
I also only have 2x 6Gb SATA ports othe intel controller on my mobo, so if we're talking performance I can realistically scale to 2 SSDs, it'll be 512 or 256 when I come around to it (also as mentioned striping a drive is just too risky from my point of view) :)

Of course if you have any sort of array in RAID0 you always set up a backup with redundancy like RAID5 or RAID1, that goes without saying. If you have a RAID0 array and you don't take regular backups you're an idiot. Also, I've been running a RAID0 array for well over a year and a half ane never got a single error. SSDs are a lot more reliable then HDDs, that's why I trust running RAID0 on them much more so than on HDDs
