Info needed from the gurus!

Hey guys!

Looking to upgrade my old and long serving gaming rig with a new one and i'm looking forward to some info from the experts.

My future mobo is gonna be the Asus Rampage 5 extreme and i was thinking to install the corsair dominator rams 32gb at 3200mhz (CMD32GX4M2C3200C16),so my question is,are these memories compatible with mobo in question?as a cpu i'm thinking the I7 6850k.

It will run them fine. XMP should also go without a hitch but thats CPU dependant nothing to do with mobo or ram really.

If you buy the rampage you should be setting them up manually (voltage wise) IMHO (cache - vccio and SA)

thank you very muck for the reply Tom,yes i knew that,i have to set the clocks manually,i was worried cause in the whql of the mobo there was no reference to these particular modules,only for the 16gb.

Ive had 32GB running in the rampage fine but the mem speeds have got much better recently with newer BIOS

Its all a bit complicated - XMP should work but its some of the voltages I would set manually to stop them from raging too high.

So for the target speed of 3200mhz,1.35v should be enough you think?

Enter what is on the stick. If it doesn't boot, trying raising the voltage for the memory, or increase your CPUs memory controller voltage.

thank you very much for your replies,another question,does it matter if the ram modules are 2 or 4?my intention is to buy the 2x16gb and mount on the rampage 5 not the 4x8gb

Get the 4 it will look better. Getting 16GB dims to run at rated is actually a bigger ask from the IMC and that kit is technically for Z170

Idealy you would have wanted 4 modules to get quad chennel anyways.
