im running a 6200 at the moment with a 37 inch 1920x1080 westinghouse. i was gunna go with an r600 but i hear there a real mess right now (big heating/power issues)

so i need help deciding whether i should just get a 280 dollar 320 gts or wait for a new card to come out (even though theres almost no info on anything nvidia..)

thanks for any tips

I don't think nVidia will release a refresh/new SKU until ATI can get out a card that beats the 8800U...which doesn't look to be for a while

tbh get an 8800GTX or 8800GTS

I don't beleive there is going to be an 8900. From what I've read, Nvidia is pulling another "6000 Series" and is skipping from the 8800 to the 9000 Series.

im just looking for something powerful. so im thinking ill get the 320 gts to hold me over until r650 hits or maybe 9000 series if there in 65nm.

Id go for the GTS 640mb for those resolutions.

Also what will the generation after the 9 series be ? 10 series ? then 11 series ?

nah, i think they might do what ATi did, and go onto X series, or somthing similar

they got 9600 9700, 9800, then it was X300, X400, X600 X800, X850, X1800 and so on

I'd got for a 8800 now if you're in the market for a new card. I'm holding off on mine simply because my wife will cut off my lovesacks if i spend any more money (just bought a 40" LCD lol).

Don't we all :D I'm getting close but atm my x1900xt o'clocked on water hasn't really stumbled aside from STALKER and that shader mod fixed that.

Good mileage really - guess crysis will push me over the edge tho!

I'm in the same boat, my ati x1900xt has proformed well.. waiting for some dx10 games to come out before i upgrade. Dunno if i want crysis.

Doesn`t look good for ATi when it`s pretty much a landslide recommendation for nVidia 8800, and rightfully so.

Oh and guyz, put u`r foot down.
