Hey all i've mentioned before that at the end of the year im going to building a new rig.

Thing is i have come into having £400 spare and wanna spend it before the wife gets her grubby mits on it

anyways as follows is the build i was going to go with

http://pcpartpicker.com/uk/p/caI8

now parts i can recycle atm to get my up and running are
my GPU - a HD5500
my PSU for now http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-SILEN...omputing_PowerSupplies_EH&hash=item3cc812a31b
Ram till the end of the month and i get paid but i have this
http://www.offtek.co.uk/ram-memory-2/advent/advent-desktop-memory/t9610/mid78625 click on enlarge and you can see the spexc :P

Basically i was going to buy the MSI motherboard the 3570k processor, and the case hoping to use the rest of the items.

would i be able to do this? and add the other itmes slowly or in one chunk at the end of the month and is that a solid enough gaming build to begin with??

Many thanks in advance

Yeren

Great set of components in the shopping basket - no comments needed.

Case wise I believe the fan fittings in the roof won't support an h100. I think they are spaced for 140mm and the H100 is 120mm. Different case or a big aircooler instead.

cool cheers lads, will do a little more digging and probably ask a few more questions

But basically i have to buy a new MoBo, PSU, Processor case and ram to have a fighting start on the rig? just i could only house a Micro ATX in my current shoddy case

with regards to the case what other case that looks that good would be good for the H100? or i could just stick with the R3 white and get a Noctua D14 instead fo the H100 as i do kinda love that case a little. I would have the Stryker but it seems a waste of space and potential unless i go bonkers and watercool

James that PSU you suggested, would that work on the full rig once bought? or just a stop by for the time being? i dont mind spending the £50 as im sure i could reuse it on a folding rig or something if i have to replace it later

No it would be too little. It only has 408W on the 12v rail (which is where all major components are powered from). You might as well just get the 650 in your shopping basket. 600w would be the minimum I would recommend.

And yea, James is right - you'll have to get the whole platform. Only the GPU is really re-useable. You can always drop down to the G45 if you want to save another £20-30.

Well in that case i'll grab the TX650, and going to "borrow" a few quid from the wife's account and grab the G65 after reading the review. that leaves me with mustering up 50 posts for the free delivery :P.

so that is new PSU MoBo, RAM, Case and processor sweet talking time i guess

The CX600 is a very good psu and s only £54 so I would recommend that

Also I would recommend the MSI Z77A G45 as it is quite a bit cheaper

im guessing for what i will be using it for the G45 would be the better choice as the G65 would be overkill for a 3570k?

i mean over kill as i wont be overclocking it more than 4.2 maybe 4.3k
Yea you'll easily get that on the G45.
The only difference between the GD55 and GD65 are that the 65 has 2 more SATA ports (so good if you need more tha 6 drives) and it has more phase controls for overclocking (10+2 vs 8+1) but that doesn't matter for us non-superhuman overclockers.

Roger that, G45 ti is then, i doubt i will have more than 3 drives tops, have my SSD and at least 1 HDD, might stretch to 2 one day if i need it but doubt it very much

Just been doing some comparison thingy on MSI website, between G45/55/65, and it would seem the 45 you cannot SLI on? well it have N/A next to it where the rest have a yes.

could anyone help out here as in the future i would wanna SLI the 670's and triple monitor
