Been sick since Saturday really, went down to the shore with my friends for the weekend and smoked a ridiculous amount of cigarettes, then took a couple doubleshots of SKYY which probably didnt help my situation; cant stop coughing, and now I feel like ****. Out of school now which is actually bad because I only have 2 weeks left, last week being finals week. Ugh.....

Anyways, its not like the cigarettes caused my sickness, I have a virus which spread and caused a repiratory (sp) infection.

Emphysema will get you before lung cancer does.
Grandma smoked for 40 years, shes almost 90 and doesnt and never had lung problems. Uncle has been smoking for 40+ years and is a doctor, also has had no lung problems, and my dad who smoked for 20 years who just recently quit has had no lung problems either. Much of cancer has a lot to do with genetics, but im not saying smoking 15000 cigarettes a year for years to come isnt going to give you problems either.

OK we know how you feel about smoking Pat and I agree.
Smoking is KNOWN to cause Cancer. I see the effects of smoking every time I see my mates (attempt) to play football. Its not good or pretty.
But I would not like this to become a slagging match

I'm not trying to turn it into a slagging match and I'm sorry about my post before I edited it. I'm just appauled that someone would start damaging their body at such a young age knowing exactly what it does.
What do you get out of smoking? Not needing another cigerrette.

tobacco doesnt make you aggressive or bad driver for exampl such as alcohol does.
so from my point of view its better to smoke than to drink
