idle vs load temps

hi guys

got a wierd problemn with my 2500k. at idle its about 40-42 degrees yet at load it tops out about 55 ish. its cooled by a nh-d14 with the low speed plugs in. ive got 2 intakes running on 12v and 2 exhausts running on the fan controller so when im gaming for hours i turn them up to aid temps. im just wandering if these idle temps are ok? i know it should idle about 30 but with the load temps being quite good it may not matter? ive tried re seating a few times with mx-4 and noctua nt-h1 and i always get the same kind of temps. any advice would be nice

When your load temps are that good idle temps don't really matter at all

ah fair enough mate

my mates idle temps are like low 30's yet his load temps are low 60's

no need to reseat then?

I wouldn't say so, although I would wait till someone else post's as I can not be certain

I wouldn't worry too much. It's not a seating issue (the load temps would be high too). It's most likely to be case airflow. If your fans spin down at idle then it might not shift the air in the case enough...but at load it is working nicely.

worth getting a be quiet 120mm to intake through the front roof vent or floor? case is a zalman z9 plus btw

and so what kinda ambient (room) temperatures do you have? lately, the

ambient temperatures are above normal, which can be a large cause of

increased temperatures. you might jack the fan controller up a couple

of RPM to compensate.
