That's probably a good idea if I could be bothered to get batteries to work well in it but I think that it might be too much work for more of a sub par mod IMO, If I were to do something like that I would want to have just 1 wire leading out from the keyboard, however if the LED's could be powered by USB then I wouldn't have a problem with splitting the cable off at the end near the connector.

can easily power led's off of usb. just a matter of how many and how bright. i like the colour scheme reminds me of the old bbc's
the colour scheme reminds me of either a bbc micro or Acorn Archimedes keyboard. Im pretty sure the acorn keyboards had LEDs built into the caps lock and numlock.
I like the look of this.
