i7 3960X, 3930K and 3820 processors to arrive by the end of 2011

so these should work with the sr-3 right?

Don't know tbh it depends what socket the SR3 is going to be, it could be 1155 or 2011 but seen as these are the new Xeons i'd guess that the SR3 might be socket 2011.

Road maps change and so does tech, People to me are stressing way to much about all this. Ill be finishing my sli 590, 2600k WC build and be holding that for a year- 2 years and by then lga2011 with either me in line to be replaced or will be at its peek with mobos/cpu combos then i will blow more money on a new setup. This is one of the worst hobbys for people if you let it get to you and you HAVE to have the top of the line stuff when it comes out. Tech curve was said to be every 9-11 months, Well in all reality its more like 2-4 months. And even then retailers and developers are holding back to milk everybody for the last thing they put out... All im saying is this will all be changed and delayed several times i am guessing.

if people have a sandy bridge already I don't think they should be thinking about upgrading now (unless you have money to burn) as for what you are spending you won't be getting an amazing technology boost.

But for people like me still running a core 2 quad this is the perfect time. My q6600 is rendering just too damn slow!

No, he means will they work with the Xeon variants or the regular I7

They may be both. Xeon is a guarantee, but the regular i7s are iffy. Wikipedia says (lol, I know I'm quoting wikipedia) that "The highest Extreme Edition will sport eight cores with 15 MB of shared L3 cache on a ring bus, a quad-channel DDR3 memory controller and two QPI links." The EVGA SR-series require dual QPI links so the CPUs can communicate with each other and with the chipset. I can't tell if all 2011 CPUs have two QPI links, or it's just the server CPUs that have them.

Some Turkish guys who find out all the info
