I need some advice on overclocking my cpu and graphics card
my first time so something short and to the point would be helpful im not a fan of long winded guides that sometimes dont answer my question.

I know that sounds lazy but ive been waiting ages for this so i just want to oc and play with no problems.
Im looking to go to 4.5 GHz which seems okay my h100i should cool that pretty well.

Ive seen the oc stuff in the motherboard for the cpu when i was setting up, how in the hell do you oc a graphics card D:

thanks in advance for some advice :D

you need to read those long winded guides about it so you can learn how not take someone elses settings and hope they work for you.

wow, i gotta say your honest.. but for a short answer.. no.

giving you the "password" and then having you spew how "you" did the
work and how great it is... blah, blah, blah...

we all usually work to learn about what we do here. no handouts, no freebies
and lotz of long testing sessions..

you gotta get used to the long winded guides. as they explaing the what and why
and if you don't know, when the smoke clears, you'll know the how come..

understand, not all systems (rigs) are the same.. what might work for one,
may have dire problems for another.

Thanks for the help, i want to flick the auto oc switch on the board but i know thats probably worse than doing a manual overclock.

I guess are there any guides i can look at for the z77 sabertooth?

nutting wrong with the OC auto prog ASUS has.. it can be a tool to learn
how they got to X-point. this way you can see the VCORE and multiplier
change and figure out how they got to this certain overclock.

read guides and embelish on the settings you already have or restart fresh from stock.

Just an update, i kinda understood what was in that other post but the bios screens and different layous confused the hell outta me.

I think i have a 4.2 turbo overclock but trying to ramp it up to 4.6 just makes my system really unstable any advice?

left the blk at 100
multiplier is at 42 right now
dram voltage is at 1.5 right now
the offset mode is + at 0.005v

overvoltage is on
cpuid maximum is on (no idea what it does but without it i cant boot)

anyone give me some tips to push it a little further?

somthing else my bios window doesnt fill the screen, it stays at 800x600 resoloution running it over a hdmi cable.
