I5 2500K - ASRock Extreme4 Gen3

The problem isn't really solved, I still can't overclock to more than 4,3 GHz stable.. Have no idea what's causing this. Perhaps the combination between a loss in the silicon lotery and the bad overclocking functions of the board. Maybe something I haven't noticed yet or something Im doing wrong.

Try use these settings:

CPU Ratio - start with 44

Turbo Bust Power Limit

-long 250

-short 200

Core Current Limit 250

Spread Spectrum - disabled

DRAM Frequency - set at you Memory default

Voltages:

CPU core voltage set at offset and set offset at +0.010v (u can also use fixed voltage instead offset, set 1.35v is u wish)

CPU Load Line Calibration - set at Level 2

CPU PLL Voltage set at 1.709v

Go to Advanced and set at disable:

-CPU C3

-CPU C6

-Package C State Support

It could be you CPU that needs more juice

I already tried fixed with Vcore at 1.45v an still wouldn't boot up. But i'll try your settings when im home

thanks

So rise voltage a bit up to 1.38v (set as fixed) - if don't work I would leave it.Either CPU or Mobo crap.

Do u have some how F-Stream installed? If so uninstall first.

1.45 Vcore could be unstable, at least in my experience. But I think you should be able to get more than 4.3Ghz at that voltage.

The first try was Black's method and after that I did it 3 more times with Vcore = 1.38 , 1.40 , 1.45 , same settings. Didn't work, Im pretty much fed up with trying to overclock without first testing another i5 2500k on this board. I should also mention the CPU is only 1,5 months old. I mean you should be able to get atleast 4.5GHz while picking your nose and I've seen people get up to 4.7GHz (on auto) on the same setup. 4.4GHz was the highest stable boot into windows, froze at the instant I primed it ...

Yeah, the 2500K should be able to reach 5Ghz without too much work.
