i3 haswell yay or nay

Due to a horrid situation (illness) I will not be able to get a i5 even a none k version so next solution is an i3 haswell seen for less than £80

Now I already have a haswell motherboard so no jumping over to amd.

Will an i3 haswell be fine with a 7870 at 1080p ? I do not play the most demanding games..I very rarly game online unless its a game like torchlight or Nazi zombies (mostly 2\3 player co op)

My mate runs a Ivy i3 with a 7870 LE and he can still play anything he wants on his rig, maybe a high instead of an ultra here and there, no AA once in a while and you'll be fine

My old rig was an i3 550 with a 7870. With the exception of planetside and arma it did the job.

Yeah an i3 is still a beast and should hold you over for a good long while. Don't think it would struggle too much at all at 1080.

the CPU doesn't make much of a difference in most games, so if it isn't completely low end you will be fine.
