well it had to happen one crash to many

my DFI sli dr just boots as if it wants to start even beeps and then just sits there showing the dfi splash screen

cmos dont help swaped out the 79 to pci /ram, ect no change

so its a new m/b expert i guess

unless anyone has a rom chip for one of these m/b

Dude, you CAN buy new rom chips for specific motherboards....just search around for service providers.

Also, don't rule out the possibility that its a different hardware problem...

do the usual remove cmos battery leave the psu unplugged then when you do try to power it up again only use 1 stick of ram

My SLI-D does that sometimes too, takes a few CMOS clears and a power off and its usually ok

Give Fatty's suggestion a shot.

That can and did happen to me. Turned out to be my HDD dying. Unplug all HDDs and then try again mate.

Even if you turn the SMART off in the BIOS, it still bloody runs and won't boot with a dying HDD.
