I kind of confused Help anyone???

Hey,

I am interested in going into SLI, but the part that im kinda confused is getting the correct GC. I have a Inno3d 8800GTS OC (320MB)~~(inno3d.com/products/graphic_card/gf8/8800gts_oc.htm) and I was wondering if I have to get the exact same frequency for both the GPU and the ram?

Any help would be great help. :worship:

Ideally yes you should, however if you get a non overclocked card I beleive the one that is not overclocked will infact bring your OC card down to the same frequency.

You can however use different makers example. Inno3d with XFX

I always thought that as long as you get twice the same GC you're on the safe side?

Ideally use two identical in all spec cards.

You can pop in a lower or higher card, as long as they support sli, but your pc will sli at the lower cards spec. I think this will cause issues too.

Hybrid sli exists too but this is more to do with sli'ing with integrated gfx

you know sli don't always improve preformance? some games even lower preformance compared just having one of those cards in.
