I guess its another new Build thread

Well guys it's getting pretty close to January (next time when I get paid), so I thought I would go ahead and post about the new rig that I am going to build. It will be used for gaming, some rendering, video editing and A LOT of photo editing.

Case:

-NZXT Phantom White-

-Bitfenix Colossus (maybe Window White)-

Well I actually cannot decide between the two of them as I like them both, but can't have to rigs (unfortunately

). Any advise?

PSU:

-Corsair AX850W-

I chose to go with the 1366 platform because having triple channel memory is huge to me and (I think) will benefit to what I am using my computer for.

CPU:

-Intel Core i7 950-

Motherboard:

-Gigabyte UD3R V2-

Memory:

-6GB Mushkin Rigdeback 1600 MHZ (preferebly black)-

Well Mushkin memory is really hard to find in Germany, so I was wondering whether any of the UK Reseller ship to Germany?

Graphics Card:

-ASUS GTX570-

Storage:

-1TB Samsung Spinpoint F3 7200 rpm- (already got for storage)

-Kingston SSD now V+ 64GB- (Windows + main programs)

How is the garbage collection on these Kingston SSDs, since they don't feature trim afaik?

Well that's basically it. Any helps, suggestions are greatly appreciated! I am getting real excited about this build, since I already sold my old rig. (Sold it for a very good price, hence the "overkill" GTX570, but I like my games on high

) Writing this on my 11.5" laptop

EDIT: Well how on earth did I forget the CPU cooler? It's going to be a Noctua NH-D14, of course.

I didn't know they did, but hey that's great! One more reason to buy them then. Thanks for the links aswell!

EDIT: Well I am not finding any Mushkin memory on the CCL site. Or have I gone blind?

Colossus for me. Every man and his bloody dog are using the Phantom now.

If it's anything like my Survivor you'll love it BUT be prepared to sort the cooling out as apparently they need a helping hand in that deparment. But I promise you now you won't regret it. I bet a fiver you'll keep leaning over to touch it, the finish is effing epic.

Oh. And Bitfenix are absolutely amazing at seeing you right if you should have any problems at all.

Thanks for moving the thread Brooksie.

I will be buying the parts in the new year, apart from the memory because of the VAT increase. I'm really looking forward to this build! Deffo going to do a build log.

EDIT: Well finally I have found a german shop that has some Mushkin in stock. How are you guys thoughts about these? http://www.urano-shop.de/Pages/Prod...ID=781518&ProductCategoryID=BA&Search=mushkin

They are Blackline (12GB) with CL9 timings at 1600MHZ. I quite like the price, since the 6GB 1600MHZ CL8 kit is only 30GPB less. So what do you guys think?

So I have another question concerning the SSD. There are millions of Kingston SSDnow on the market so I am totally lost on which one to get? Also is the Corsair Force SSD any good, since they seem to be pretty good?

Ok thanks dude

. Could you maybe look over the mushkin memory I listed? (just from the specs to me it seems pretty good)

Well guys the run for my new computer parts has started. Today I ordered the Bitfenix Colossus, an aditional 140 mm Spectre fan for the back, and a set of black and blue Bitfenix sleeved cables. These parts where on sale as a bundle at caseking (140€ for the bundle, instead of 160 for the case alone), so I thought I'd go ahead and order it. I settled on the black version because I finally decided that I want a black and blue build sitting underneath my desk and not a white one. Getting quite anxious about my new build
