i'm still doubtful these are the temps i should be getting. this is standard clock i5 3450 (quad core 3.1ghz, standard volts)

worth noting was the thermal paste appeared to had been applied using the "business card" technique by the good ol knowledgable chap who knows more than me in the shop.
I allowed the heatsink to lift slightly while i was awkwardly trying to get the screws back on, i suspect this made bubbles. corsair link tells me the h80i isnt going over 24 degrees while the cpu is at 50 deg
(edit- this is a big improvement over failing the occt tests before)
should i try again? tips? (eg if i should wait before trying again or whatever, if i should do it differently?)
excuse my cheap phone's camera, but this is what i found when i lifted the heatsink
after a clean up with phobya cleaning kit
the amount of new thermal compound i've used. its some arctic silver 5 a mate handed to me no idea how old it is, is that a factor?
