Doom 3.

Biggest let down of all time to me. I was a huge doom fan, my screen name on a few sites is still idchoppers (doom cheat to get chainsaw).

Well that's easy COD Black Ops. In all that time of developing their next installment in the COD series, it was just MW2 but worse, aboslutely no effort to improve the grpahics, just same engine as MW. Single player was pretty enjoyable, but multiplayer isn't a patch on MW2 except for having dedicated servers (which all fps games should be set up for).

I was disappointed with Aion, it was branded as a WoW killer, but tbh it was average at best, yes it looked nice and the play style was gd, but lets face it WoW is the mmo king. Imo to knock WoW off the top you have to do what the ppl who developed Rift have done, basically copy all the WoW controls, how you interact with things and talent builds, but then make it look less cartoony and add a little more variety, I would say a decent story line, but that's not hard since WoW are basically making it up as they go now.

+1, Black Ops is mainly a glorified map pack, you could call it the Vietnam of COD MW2, except that's a huge insult to Vietnam

CODMW

CODMW2

CODBLOPS

I hate call of duty :/

but without a doubt the biggest disapointment of any game to have ever been released is command and conquer tiberian twilight

frontlines: fuel of war.

game had all the makings to be the best ever online mp fps and they never quite got there. to this day its still only a patch away but...well yea.

other games have since took its ideas and made them work.

glad to see other mention Op Flashpoint as that was soo bad it hurt.

Res Evil 5 as well was disapointing, and as much as i hate to say it, Fallout: New Vegas was a bit of let down (loved Fallout 3, played it thru on xbox and pc), just didnt seem to have the pinache of Fallout 3

I've got Dragon Age II ready to go in about a day or so. It is being mauled on Metacritic and just about everywhere else. It has no isometric view, companion inventory customisation, dumbed down dungeons, insipid dialouge and dumbed down Mass Effect dialogue tree. I'll let you now in a couple of days ;-)

Apart from that, COD: Black Ops is an utter horror show of a game, while Civ 5 is yet another masterful game watered down for the average console user.

Oblivion. I think Skyrim could be potentially decent.

But god, Oblivion could give you a headache and a half. They didn't think to simply let shields increase base damage resistance and every so often let the shield proc and block an attack, so if you chose melee you were more often than not always staggering around like a pillock after recoiling.

But from what I'm seeing from Skyrim, despite some choices that disappointed me, I might be able to enjoy this one.
