HTPC Build- Parts?

Hey guys,

I hope you're all well.

So I'm about to buy a 3d ready tv, and I was thinking, would it not be sweet if I could watch stuff in 3D too- as well as the tv being 3 d "ready"! I haven't done a htpc build before, but it needs to be silent. So, I am looking for help, in buying a case, mobo etc. And I guess I'm gonna need an nVidia 400 series gpu since they are the only ones that currently support 3d?

I'm also looking for a good OS. I use Boxee a lot and it's great- kind of hard to believe it's still in beta testing stages. Furthermore, it works on all OSs. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good OS for a HTPC?

Cheers.

You need a 480 or 2x 470 to get decent frame rates dude.... Anything less and it can get more like a slide show :(

Just use windows 7 for the 3d side or you will get driver problems.

Seriously?

I heard the GTX 200 cards work too: perhaps tri-sli? [I have a bit more time now, so I gonna google around for a bit]

Thing is - I doubt I'll be gaming on it. Probably just looking for films. And I currently don't have a blu-ray player, so I was thinking of sticking one of those in too.

to be honest,2 460's will suffice

this 3D stuff is meant to be quite intensive, but as the 460's are quite powerfull 2 of them would be ok

2? For films? Since 1080p TVs work at 24Hz, surely the cards would only need to output 48Hz, rather than 120 needed for gaming?

but saying that, the 460 is a very powerful card IMO,so if you overclock it alot and get the 1gb version you might be ok,also what size is the tv
