Hey there. I had to disable HT and lower some voltages to get a cool and stable O/C test in Prime 95. So far, I am 7 hours stable, and at 67 degrees on my hottest core. (yesterday morning I woke up to a fail and 94 degrees peak!!! YIKES....on an i7-950).
IF I pass this test stable at 24 hours, is it implied that if I re-enable Hyperthreading later on that it will also be stable then as well? If it works fine on physical cores, I imagine it would on all virtual cores too, despite the temperature increase (which under normal load isn't going to be a deal).
I'll be getting a better case this week for air cooling.
My current is 3.75 Ghz (from stock 3.06) and after I get new case, if cooling is sufficient, I would like to set my goal to 4 Ghz. I will make a post here in the forum to share my first O/C experience.
