I bought a HP photosmart 5280 about 2 year ago, It always had problems scanning for which I managed to find some work arounds and put up with. I then decided to try and print a cd for the first time about 3 month ago, cue a load more problems and looking for work arounds coupled with the fact that their software never really liked WIndows 7.

Just the other day I re ordered some ink and installed it, only immediately after to get a error message "Print Cartridge - Please Refer to Documentation". I tried to resolve this issue and done the usual search on the internet to find that it seems to be a fairly common problem, taking place after installation of cartridges.

I reported the fault on HP site to try and find teh "common fix" I also tried phoning. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME IT HAS BEEN. HP seem to have no cutomer suppport what so ever, the only help I got was from other users offering up possible solutions which have not worked. HP have not even replied to my post as it seems beyond them!

I am also under the impression that it is a time related fault built in to the printer. Why should printing problems stop me from using the scanner? I d o not know but it does, it will not let me do nothing with the printer.

I am fuming with HP and now know I have a useless piece of plastice with 2 new cartridges.

Look slike Canon mught get some money from me soon as HP have seen the last of me.

AARRGGGHHH worst customer support ever.

My brother had fault with a laptop a couple of years ago and it took them nearly a year to agree that it was broken and then send him a replacement, he was having to ring like every couple of weeks and there would have been no progress, they kept giving him lame ass comments but in the end they gave him a more expensive laptop because of the amount of time they had it, was like twice the price of the origional one but yeah initially they were really crap but he was pleased with the result so i would just keep going on at them.

I won a HP camera in a cross sale competition at work about five years back. It was supposedly a very nice camera.

Well, after spending about an hour trying to get it to switch on it finally did. I took three pics, turned it off and it never worked again.

I phoned HP and was diverted to Mumbai in India where I then spent an hour trying to explain to this dude that the camera was dead, dodo, buggered. He then tells me that I need to send the camera back at my expense and wait for a replacement. I had only had it two days. I asked him if there was any other way to do it and he told me that I could pay for a new one $200+ tax + shipping) and then when they recieved mine back they would refund it minus shipping.

In the end I just gave up. So needless to say I have never gotten anything made by HP again.
