How To Train Cables ?

At the moment I have all Cablemod cables attached to my Corsair PSU *Patiently awaiting my replacements with the caps built in* and I'm using cable ties to keep them nice and snug but was wondering how to train them so I wouldn't need cable ties or combs ?

Any pointers are appreciated

Positive reinforcement I find works best, if that fails a chair and whip would work too. :lol:

In all seriousness though, cable lacing would be my choice then after a while take the lace away, it worked on my white cables they now hold form.

mine trained them self.
Granted it is a HIDEOUS maze of overlapping back tracing wavy plastic coated copper nightmare..
But they just hold that position now.

Whether they obey your command really depends on the discipline and respect your cables have for you. High quality well made sleeved cables will hold their shape to an extent, it all depends on the size of wire, quality and stretch of the sleeve. That is why MDPC-X is on another level. Teleios can be good too. If they are the right length and each wire is the right length proportional to the others then it makes things a lot easier.

I haven't handled any cablemod sets myself, so i'm not going to call them out, but I wouldn't expect them to be on the same level as bespoke nylon cables. That doesn't mean you can't arrange them neatly, just they won't want to hold their shape as much. When the sleeve is truly tight on the wire you can bend them and stroke them into curves. Using combs or lace can help to get the training started, but they both look awful on show in my opinion.

Good idea although I'll have to start them on light weights with a good nutritional plan ! XD

I tell mine that if they don't behave, I'll put them in a Thermaltake case.

One of them is currently mowing the lawn and the other ones are washing the car.

That is such an evil thing to do, I never thought someone could mistreat cables to such an extent as putting them in a Thermaltacky case

Never but i'll have to delve in there soon as i'm just installing windows updates with the Z97-A board in and get it nice and tidy for some forum photo's

I hate Superflowers 24pin cable its a nightmare me needs new case after the CPU methinks

So you're not going to be getting your cables out of the closet but you're going to be getting the cables out of the closet for a Z97 build ?
