I have a Rampage III Extreme mother board and I kind of wanted to install the other northbridge cooler. I havent found anything on the internet about how or in the manual. Also if you think it isnt a good idea to install it cause it's too loud or completely useless please tell me.

If you cant work it out with it in front of you you shouldnt be building your own PC's dude lol!

Its very blatant how to do it if you look

My problem is there are different sets of screws, two on the front and two on the back. I'm also not sure if I should even put it on. How noisy is it does it make a difference?

I don't own one myself, but in almost every R3E build I've seen, they've never used the Northbridge fan cooler. I assume the tiny fan is also really loud. You should only really need it if you have terrible airflow anyways, else your NB shouldn't get too hot.

I also have r3e mobo, and i have absolutely no intension using that nb-cooler.Cant see why its even bundled with the mobo.If you buy r3e,its likely that you also own a case with good airflow.

Thanks guys

I tried installing it but it didn't fit under the NH-D14 so i had to take it off and put on the passive cooler with Noctua TIM. Is it ok to use the Noctua TIM on the NorthBridge cooler?
