I am planing on buying the gtx 770 4gb acx sc (i might later get 3monitors) for a 2 monitor setup. i will later udgrade to sli if i get 3monitors for gaming. The setup will be for gaming on High res ex.bf4,planetside 2,

Is this my best option?

(I want nvidia physx so no amd)

Anyway... AMD will be better for multiscreen setups. But since you are only going for Nvidia than a 770 4gb will be okay. Just don't expect to max everything out. 5760x1080p has more pixels than 2560x1600p so obviously will need more horsepower in order to run them. So as you said SLI is needed.

Alternatively a 780 or 290x would be a better option for a single card setup and also in my opinion the better option.

honestly, if you want a triple screen setup then you should probably rather look at a 780. a 770 is fine for 1440p, but a triple screen 1080p setup could be a bit too much for the memory bus and even if it isn't, the framerate won't be great.

770 SLI should be fine really for triple screens.

Maybe a couple of the more demanding games you might have to knock the settings down to high/medium, but in the majority of cases, it should be fine really.

I run 5760x1080 on a single 690 - so only 2gb of RAM as well, and I'm able to max out pretty much any game really. BF3 at ultra still gets over 45/50 FPS, and dropping to high settings goes to 75/80+.

Put a bit of an OC on your 770s and they should run pretty much everything fine tbh.

Aren't the 4gb cards crazily more expensive... you might as well just spend the extra and get the 780 for the sheer grunt. That'd be what i'd do.
