How good are the MONSTA series?

After all that is said about radiators I see less talk and of people that have or used the 480 MONSTA radiators. How good is the beast 480?

I am in a current project of making a desk pc and I am going all over kill with the rads - this is my current set up so far.



I am now making a space at the back - out of view of the table - and I want to place 2 extra 480 rads and I was wondering if the 480 MONSTA would be the best option for this?

They would be in push/pull. Or would it be better with something like an RX480? XTX480?

There is a reason for that :lol: Those things are huge, not too many cases can accommodate them, but that said they are awesome at cooling with near silent fan profiles.

EDIT: Which hardware are you going to cool? I would have thought 2 360 Rads would be more than enough for any CPU and single GPU setup.

I've used them in all but this build, and if my 240 would have fit, it would have been in this one too. In my last build I had the 480, and the 420, they were cooling a 4670k @ 4.2, on 1.015v, and a pair of 7950's and the cpu never went over 42.

If you want to go overkill, and are going to hide the rad's then why not go for a Phobya 1080.

I run a 1080 at the moment which is massive overkill for just my cpu and motherboard, but it keeps a 3930k @ 4.6ghz using 1.425v below 68c per core when the ambient room temp in 26c, and the motherboard stays below 35c.

I could quite easily add my 780Ti's on to it and then add in another 2 780Ti's and they would all still stay cool.

The fans I run are Akasa Apache Black 1300rpm and I just have the 9 of them, in a pull setup.

It is a big rad but at £100 for the 1080 rad iirc it's cheaper and performs better than a 480 rad.

I will be cooling a 4670k and a 780 but then changing to ti sli or 290 crossfire depending on what deals I can get cheap parts from friends.

The thing is that I wan to go massive overkill on rads - JUST BECAUSE - and I have them here laying around. As you can see then for now I have 2 x XTX 360 and 1 x XTX 480. The monsta rads would be placed at the back or in the back legs of the table out of view.

Maybe the 1080 would be an option with 1 set of fans.

Really the only thing i would remind you of is that with all those rads and blocks you need some serious pumping power.

I've been using a 360 monsta since they were released and can't fault it. Quiet FPI, great build quality and nice features at a good price.

What about a 560 MONSTA? Has anyone tried one of these? I have discarded the 1080 as I will not be able to place it well in my design, so that leaves me with either the 480 MONSTA or maybe the 560 MONSTA....

Thoughts about the 560?
