now i have a board does PCIe x16 with one graphics card.

now im confused i also have a wireless card in the pci 8x slot

as my board goes to 8x 8x if 2 graphics cards are in place,

would this mean with my wireless card my graphiocs is cureently running at 8x ?

Thanks

Probably. Do you not have any other slots for the wireless card? I don't think having it in a x4/ x8/ x16 slot makes the wireless card any faster mate. Bung it in a x1 if possible.

it was designed to fit in 8x, (wont fit in 1x) so do you think i should just take it out, would the wireless card drop my pciex16 to 8x?

mobo is msi p67-gd65

It shouldn't make much difference, if any, which slot your wireless card is in as far as IT'S performance goes.

Could you please list all the expansion slots you have and what speeds.

Keep the wireless card in, but it has the lowest priority in terms of what gets the higher speed slots. Keep the x16 lanes only for graphics cards.

To illustrate:

An example of how you might have your expansion devices configured. Depends on your motherboard ofcourse

x16_1 > Gpu 1

x16_2 > Gpu 2

x8_1 > Gpu 3

x8_2 > Gpu 4

x4_1 or x1_1> Wireless adapter

x4_2 or x1_2> Pci-e solid state drive

x4_3 or x1_3> Sound card

i have

3 x 1x

2 x 16x

2 x 8x

Run the graphics card on it's own in the top blue lane.

Run the wireless card in the whichever black lane you want.

What should happen is your frame rates will either stay the same or increase (depending if mobo switched to 8x 8x or 16x 16x when you had the wireless card where it was previously) and your wireless speed stay the same.

The two bottom black slots on your board are not PCIe 8x slots, they are normal PCI slots. The 3 short black slots are 1x PCIe and the long blue slots are 16x PCIe.

Ah, thank you hmmblah, my wooly friend

In that case Firat, if your network card allows put it in one of the short black lanes. If it doesn't, are you able to live without it and maybe use in another/ future rig? Gigabit ethernet is faster anyways.

Try a few games without the network card, and just the graphics card first. See if it even gives you higher fps. If it doesn't well may as well stick it back in

I always thought all wireless card worked in a native PCI slot, never seen a PCIe wireless card before.

Putting somthing in a PCI lane shouldnt affect the bandwith of the PCIe lanes.

well my wirless card goes in the PCI slot (1 of the bottom blaCK SLOTS) not PCIe so im not sure wether or not it will affect my graphics card bandwith

soo hmmblah would that mean if i have my wireless card in the normal pci slot it would not affect my graphics card performace which is in pcie slot x16

Your wireless card doesn't effect your gpu in anyway, if you had another gpu in the other blue slot it would run both gpus at 8x, however your current gpu is running at 16x.
