How do you use your PC?

Hey Guys,

So I am back from my holidays, my laptop still playing up and being mega slow. It got me thinking, why did I jut spend £700 on my new desktop setup?

Admittedly I dont have a DVD drive, or a keyboard/mouse yet :) but I havnt actually got anything to do on my PC.

I dont have the internet on it (although I will when I am back at school), and apparently without a physical dvd drive connected my alcohol 120% wont work, meaning no games.

When back at school I do use the internet a lot in free time, and for research/work. I dont really game, but if i pick up some good games, and get into them I probably will.

Need any more info?

Did I waste my time and money on a whim?

What do you guys use your PCs for that make them worthwhile having?

Thanks

i game, alot

but iv been getting bored of it recently, since none of my games, a

Guess I need to get some more games :)

Do you find work, games, programming etc worth the cash you spent?

I find it is worth the money I spent on building it, but then my last system lasted me for over 3years.

Web/mail/com, research, music/podcast, games, movies/tv, office, hobby stuff (general enthusiast tinkering).

Tbh, outside of working and general human stuff, u `could` fill u`r whole day with that >.<

.. and when u work with computers too... think I need counselling.

lol, i know how you feel. Some days you just cant be bothered with computers at all. Or at least i cant.

I initially built a cheap gaming rig to play some games UT2004 etc. Then I got the internet and played dod a lot. Online gaming just rules on PCs imo. I have been upgrading bits and pieces and got into CSS big time (this can take up all your time alone!).

I like having the luxury of looking anthing up when I want, download music at a touch of a button, play games online with mates etc. I deffo think a PC is worth it.

I wouldn't have spent as much money as you in one go on a PC, if I wasn't THAT into PCs...

I use mine for Internet, Chatting, Gaming, some Photoshop, and bit of web design, more gaming :P, and this semester I'm taking a programming course, so probably a bit of that.

The only days I can ever positively say I cba with computers is when I`m on holiday.

.. I go on holiday and some1 mentions a computer problem - and I`m there...

But to spend 2 or 3 weeks away from my setup is relaxing somewhat, but towards the end I do honestly get a form of withdrawl. That IS honest, all joking aside.

To me computers are for learning...

I meet people from all over the world (in games and forums)

I find deals on items, (especially for deals on hotels, travel)

I play a few games. (CSS and Starcraft

For me computers are really for building, a way for me to keep my mind active. Usually once I build one I tear it apart and try to make it better.

Another good thing about them is they allow me to share my ideas with others.

I think itll be worth it for me, as my laptop has had good usage. I use my laptop considerably more than most people use their PCs, wonder if itll be the same now I have a desktop.

It would be een better if I could just work out my problems...

Anyone know why my call of juarez .mds worked before my holiday but now doesnt, when .isos work (alcohol 120%)

Gaming, forums, music, downloading stuff, internet surfing, school, general entertainment and the like. It's the all-in-one tool!

i use mine for feeding my Internet Addiction ^^, watching TV series as they show in the us etc, and gaming (not so much recently) and keeping in contact with family/Friends
