How do you like the ROG Connect feature?

Just seen this looking at the Crosshair specs. Looks very neat.

Does it let you make FSB / RAM timing / voltage changes? Are they stored directly to the BIOS settings as if you were tweaking the settings directly in the BIOS?

If so, that's wicked cool...

Someone on here posted pictures of the ROG connect app on the iPhone - but I can't find it. Looks very neat.

I think it's not just a ROG thing. I'm pretty sure it's on any ASUS mb with bluetooth built in now. I know mine has it, just never played with it. But I can give it a go (atleast attempt) if you would like so I can get you some answers.

That would be awesome if you could play with it and report back on what all it's capable of and how you like using it.

Okay so upon setting up the ASUS BT GO and checking it out. It's a cool little app, but to me is mostly for showing off. The OC feature is the same as going into AI Suite and letting the program OC. You have no control over anything. But it does allow you to watch you Core Frequencies in real time, along with your voltages, fan speeds, and temperatures. The CPU temp is the average across all cores.

I did find this and it pretty much shows everything.

As for the comment about "on the fly overclocking" all that happened when I hit the button was it rebooted the system, nothing else. Not sure if the fact that I have a locked i72600 has anything to do with it. Don't ask why it is not a "K" long story.

Will play around more later and see if I can discover unlock more.

Very interesting thanks for that Peirce.

I thought that BT GO! was different than ROG Connect though? As far as I know there's a dedicated USB port on ROG boards for the ROG Connect to hook up to a laptop. Do you have that port?

No sadly I do not have that.

I did a little more checking tho on the BT GO. You need to have TurboV and Turbo Key installed. TurboV let you do all your OC tweeks in Windows, and make them into different profiles. You can they use the Turbo Key to make you power button on your MB an OC switch, activating a certain profile. Then it seems you can set your phone to activate a profile. Unfortunatly I have not gotten it to work, all mine does is restart the computer.

It's a useless feature, why would someone buy a killer gaming rig with a high end board then not be in a position to use it locally so they have to overclock it remotely? Would someone buy an Xbox/ PS3 controller with a 10km connectivity? Why would they be playing their console from 10km away?

I don't think that's what it's aimed to do in the slightest.

It allows you to tweak your overclock via the BIOS without having to reboot your computer every time to make an adjustment. It also allows you to make changes mid-benchmark. I definitely think this feature has it's time and place.

So it works from the BIOS on the fly?

Oh, then yeah, definately useful. I thought it just remotely rebooted the system and entered the BIOS page then went on to POST.

They have an android app too,m works with my samsung galaxy S, you change the stuff REALTIME in the OS.... super sick
