How are we going to raise OC3D awareness?

I came here following a link at adslguide for the broadband offer.

But I've been here before after googling for reviews of specific graphics cards or coolers..

Probably both - can't remember.

So, 'such and such review' is a good way of getting google hits (that and paying them).

Simple thread titles - eg 'nvidia 7800 gxt review', 'arctic cooling pornmaster extreme review' etc.

Or I could just post the broadband offer at various forums I frequent...

Thanks mate, its also nice to know that you've been linked here before while doing some review searching... That means we're getting spidered somewhere :) hehe

:wavey:

i think this small link at adslguide is supplying us with way more members than we ever hoped lol, i say we wait for a bit til the google rank goes up and keep supplying the same things that bring people to SX in the first place :D

Yet another mistake, posted on the Google thread, not realising that this one had over taken it, still my back is broad, I can take it. :o

I found this site from ADSL Guide.

You really could do to set up reciprocal links with other sites in a similar field. The more inbound links that your site receives, the higher it's perceived relevancy by the search engines. If you want to link Sysxtreme to my company's website (we do computer spares), visit http;//www.totis.co.uk click on the links text button at the bottom right hand side of the home page and fill in the form. I'll get you added.

Also, make sure that you register on as many web directories as possible. The main one is www.dmoz.org.

You need to make your home page "spider friendly", so make sure your meta tags are filled with relevant keywords (not just random crap).

We seems to have quite a few experts. Nothing can beat a couple of good profesional review articles in e-commerce site, i.e. ebay or amazon with

our link to it!

Well you guys are great , this forum is great , its like a big family and to be honest such a warm community makes us new members feel like the part of the family.

Anyways back to topic.

I can see you guys are using vbulletin so as for search rankings and spidering your site why dont you use SEO for vbulletin which creates .html pages rather then index.php and soon which improves search ranking alot. The best SEO for vbulletin at the moment is www.vbseo.com which costs $149 / 85 Pounds. I know cost price is high but i ll for sure chip in 5 / 10 pounds. Whats 85 bucks for such big community :D

As for t-shirt check this site out and i am sure there are many more like this

http://www.cafepress.com/cp/customize/

Good photoshop users can create many logos etc and XMS can upload them to their account in cafepress. From mugs to t-shirts what ever is available. Then SX will have a public shop in www.cafepress.com/SX/ which will only show which ever logos and products XMS chose. Then end users can just buy what they want so no bulky ordering , or high cost on SX owner. Plus SX can earn some commission out of this too which can be spend else where.

Other things i can think of adding SX link in your signatures , more tutorials , graphic gurus can add their tutorials , network gurus can addd theirs , Fragtek can take the number 1 spot in 3d Mark 2005 scores :D etc etc..... Hope this helps

I'd highly recommend Spreadshirt as well as Cafepress. They have European and US sites so it's easier for us non-US members.

Good suggestion mate, anywhere we can get ourselves noticed and entice new members without spamming them is a step in the right direction:)

maybe just approaching some online shops and other pc related forums etc and swapping banners and stuff?

sx stickers? and other sx merchandise?

cheers.

I think its time to revive this thread again....

I think to grow its important to give people a reason to stay (not just prizes)

A place to hang out, In other forums I notice a lot of Admins have very little contact with the new people. That part I have never understood.

What demigraphic do you want to add (14-16 year olds, 20-30, old fogies like me?) they all have different wants/needs.

I am not sure how computer shows work, but it may help to have a team of overclockers, modders and just members that go to shows and hand out stuff or man a booth or something like that. It is probably very expensive, but just a thought.

Also I think we need something to bring people here, like some people that hack devices to add functionality or maybe some world record overclocks that are exclusively here.
