hot under the collar

Hi guys, my pc is getting a bit hot lately, probably down to the hotter weather we've been having, so i invested in a fan controller as per pic so i could find out my temps and control it.Installed it last night and the temps went up to 50'C which i'm taking with a pinch of salt at the mo.

what i want to know is :-

1) how do you affix the temp sensors? tape, paste or just loose in the surrounding area?

2) i have 2 fans at the rear blowing in, 1 fan on my CPU, 1 in the PSU and 1 on the GPU, should i turn the 2 at the rear around to expel hot air?

answers on a postcard please lol

TBH mate you can use software for the temps of the main componants so the fan cont isnt exactly needed.

I dont like all the stick on probes ect as they just make everything very messy.

What cpu cooler are you running?

down load this as a temp monitor - HWmonitor download link

Use that as a more acurate way dude than the probes

Without an exceptional reason I would suggest u turn those rear fans around to blow out.

Temp sensors are vitally attached to whatever ur reading the temps of. U can use tape if u like.

Thing is, just as Tom says, they're often a pita to situate or conceal without getting in the way of stuff.

They're generally 2 wires of different metals covered in a plastic coat. Dangling them in the air will measure the air. For the temp of a component u want them flat to a component. But just remember that if u attach them to.... a harddrive for example, they'll read the temp of the case of the drive rather than the software that will take readings from sensors inside the case.

They do have their uses, but not always the best application for certain items.

To make it cooler buy a decent heatsink matey go HERE and grab the 775 freezer 7 pro version and it will drop your temps right down.
